Why have you chosen to hire an agent?
I am hoping to have a long career in rugby and wanted to work with an agent to guide me and advise me from the early stages of my career allowing me to concentrate on training playing and developing my skills.
What in particular attracted you to joining TSP?
Rob was really approachable and TSP have a number of young talented sports people signed up which was a real attraction. They seem to have great experience in guiding young sports people through their early years. They understand and will challenge my ambitions in the game and help me get the best out of myself. What made you, as a young player, look for an agent?
Despite the fact I'm a young player, the growing pressure of balancing a fast growing rugby career and contract talks lead me to look at the prospect of hiring an agent. The transition from youth or university rugby to a professional career can be a daunting experience and I decided it was in my best interest to explore various options. Having met with Rob Barry on several occasions to discuss the pros and cons of professional representation, I decided that TSP was a company I could trust.
How has having an agent helped you in the early stages of your career?
Signing with TSP has allowed me to focus solely on playing and performing. I have a strong relationship with Rob Barry and I have a 100% confidence that he is looking after my best interests. I was originally quite apprehensive signing with an agent, however, now I feel like it has given me greater focus without having to worry about the business aspects of rugby.
What do you hope to gain from being represented by TSP?
After careful consideration I decided that representation was necessary to ensure my career is in the best position possible to reach the next level. By minimising my off-field distractions, I believe I will be able to focus more on my performance and become an established member of the Harlequins' Squad.
